What do you do when your world falls apart? You obviously go get a Christmas Tree! Meet Alec, a 20 something recent college grad who is lost in both the physical and metaphysical sense. Grief-ridden and alone, he goes back to one of the few remaining places that still give him comfort. Armed with his hand saw, survivors guilt, and jaded viewpoints on life, Alec embarks on a trek for the Christmas tree that would rule them all. Unbeknownst to Alec however, is the fact that being alone on a tree farm doesn't mean you're by yourself. Cue Abbott, Alec's eccentric guardian angel with unusual methods of helping. It seems the Kershner's tree farm is where everything he's been repressing will finally come to light. All Alec needs to do is get out of his own way to see it, easy right??

I loved how quickly I got a sense of the author's sense of humor. I feel like the story had a good balance of character development and humor. Highly anticipating the rest of the series.
