Maelyn The Nine Princesses Book 1

Maelyn was not born a princess. The king found her as a child, the lone survivor of a poor village slaughtered by Red Fever. Suddenly she became a princess of Runa Realm, the first of nine orphans adopted by the king.

By her eighteenth year, Maelyn rules over Runa and a family of nine sisters. But some call the princesses frauds and imposters, a handful of urchins raised into royalty. Even Uncle Jarrod, the High King of Grunwold, seems determined to prove that Maelyn no longer deserves to be a princess. With a family losing faith in her, and a kingdom growing dangerously hostile, even Maelyn begins to wonder if she is truly a real princess. And if her riches will turn to rags once again....

Coralina The Nine Princesses Book 2

Coralina Corissa, known as “Coco” to her eight sisters, is the prettiest princess of a hundred kingdoms. And she knows it. Her beauty has always given her anything she wanted... and any MAN she wanted.

Runa Realm is facing a new threat. Strange bandits, disguised as nobles, are attacking beautiful women to steal their hair. Coralina isn’t concerned. Until Prince Luxley, her favorite (but not only) lover, gets clobbered by a peasant called Gord, who mistakenly assumed the prince was a bandit.

Outraged, Coralina plans to punish the peasant by deliberately breaking his heart. But Gord is nearly blind. For the first time ever, Coralina must rely on more than her looks to ensnare a man. But the harder she flirts, the more Gord seems to hate her. And the more her own heart (and hair) becomes endangered.

Heidel The Nine Princesses Book 3

Heidel never wanted to be a cookie-cutter princess. She isn’t graceful. She isn’t sweet. She isn’t even skinny! Heidel would much rather cook than curtsy; is more interested in eating than etiquette.

The Nine Princesses are preparing for the annual festival known as Fenwick’s Feast. Heidel plans to enter the King’s Cake Contest given by the famous-but- crazy king of Bauble. But also entering the contest is arrogant Prince Eravis who sneers at Heidel’s cooking skills, insults her rounded figure, and mocks her ambition to cure the world of Red Fever.

Caught up in her culinary conquest, Heidel barely notices that another enemy simmers on the back burner, one much more deadly than a sarcastic prince. An enemy who may hold the secret to the princesses’ long lost servants....

The Nine Princesses Series chronicles the adventures of an unconventional family of princesses, the struggles they face in a kingdom often hostile to their humble origins, and the day-to-day dramas of nine young women whose personalities often clash like swords. Readers of Aya Ling, Cameron Jace, Jenni James, Chanda Hahn, and K.M.Shea would enjoy these princess books.

"I stumbled on this while looking for a short read between some ARCs I was reviewing. I didn't expect to fall in love with another series! (...) This was a quick and very fun read. And the premise is exactly what every little girl desires...to be a princess. Ok, so not the way Maelyn and her sisters became princesses, but dreams of becoming a princess none the less. Anita surprised me by the amount of "story" in this tale. There was no down time in any of this. It left me wanting to learn what happens next. I can't wait for Coralina's story. Well done!" - Reviewer

The Nine Princesses Series 3 Princess Novels eBook Anita Valle Reviews

Maelyn

This one was good, but a little cheesy. Great for a light read though! I really liked maelyn, she was kind, a good leader, and smart. For someone worrying that the whole kingdom hated her she did a good job keeping that stress under control. And I LOVED the messenger boy (sorry forgot his name) he always pulled maelyn up when she was feeling down. So sweet. Overall great story! About 3 stars for this one

Coralina oh yes, I loved this one! I honestly thought I'd hate it (coralina and I are opposite) but I ended up loving it. It definitely wasn't predictable. Rather refreshing actually (I would say more but I don't want to spoil it). About 4 stars for this one.

Heidel …gosh I didn't like this one at all! It did get deeper into the mystery, which I liked...but that's where the liking ends. Eravis was EXTREMELY rude. He called her fat, her cakes crusty, stupid, and insulted her constantly! And then heidel…she was a brat. She threw things, yelled, insulted people constantly…I mean I have a temper and it was too much for me. And then they fall in love! What??? As my cousin says "anger isn't attractive" it may be cute or exciting at first but it gets old. Just no... About 2 stars for this one.

Overall I would keep on reading this series, and can't wait for the next book!

I received this book for an honest review
Ok overall I loved it! I will break it into the individual novellas for this review but I am super glad that the author combined the first three into one. The writing overall was well done, and really pulled you into the kingdom of these nine adopted peasants turned princesses. I found myself cheering for some, mad at some and loving the relationship between all of them(not to mention the fun interactions between them and the fellas).

Maelyn I was pulled right in from the prologue and felt like I was right next to Maelyn as she struggled to hold it all together and ached with her in her sorrows and cheered through her joys. I loved her joy of books and her being able to find solace and happiness while reading them (they definitely help me feel that). The kingdom suffers a plague, the red fever, and killed the parents of these princesses and then the king and queen who were childless adopted them only to die years later leaving the girls to run the kingdom and care for each other while some subjects in the kingdom feel they are not truly princesses. Add into the mix a surprise visit from their uncle, the high king, who has never cared for them and has some scheme to get rid of them. The servants have all left causing more gossip that the girls aren't princesses and should step down from their positions. Luckily a new messenger comes and gives Maelyn the strength and help she needs. The ending is too abrupt in the sense that I wanted more of her story than I got! It was so good, I was really drawn into the story and then it ends. I felt like a little kid wanting to pout because I didn't get my way in a longer story but I tried to act like the grownup I am and continued on to the next one. Let's just say that the author does a great job continuing the story and it feels like the story really doesn't stop but just is taking a break from one point of view to another.

Coralina definitely not the nicest of the nine but she can have her moments. She is supposedly very beautiful and knows it. She uses that for her gain regardless of who it affects. She does come to learn about the hurt she can cause and strives to be better. Her story is longer but you continue to see Maelyn's story progress. I won't say more than that for Coco(her nickname).

Heidel This is the longest of the three and I really liked Heidel and her silly but good antics. She desires to find the cure for red fever and is very close. She was taught how to heal and cook and finds she truly enjoys doing so. She has struggles with a prince from a neighboring kingdom. They seem to only be able to fight and compete when in close proximity of each other. It's pretty fun to watch and adds to the storyline very nicely. More of the princesses are continually being introduced in further detail and tidbits of the previous princesses are continually being added.

To sum it all up I highly recommend this for adults and children of all ages. Very fun beginning to a great series! I can't wait to read more from this author. I have her novel for boys called the bully monster and will definitely be watching for others. I am excited also to be able to share this with my daughters, they will love it too!!

*I did receive a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review*

If you decide to try it I highly recommend the combined first three novellas version.

Happy Reading!!!
I adore this series! These stories of 9 princesses are sure to delight. Each orphaned at a young age, and each adopted by the King of Runa, they’re none-the-less close sisters, even when they get on each other’s nerves. But when their place as princesses is threatened by a jealous king they must learn to band together and fight for the life they were given. I love the setting, the descriptions of this fanciful realm. But I love the characters, how each is unique and stands on her own. I also love that these princesses work. With no servants, they are forced to run the castle themselves, each taking a unique job. It’s a fun and unique twist on a princess tale. Add to that a mystery of someone in the shadows, working against them.
Each book focuses on a specific princess, but fit into the overarching story-line. Definitely a series I recommend.

Maelyn
As the oldest princess, Maelyn takes her job seriously. She is graceful, elegant, poised, ready to one day take on the mantle as queen. She has a great heart, and rules both authoritatively and with kindness. Her one real passion is her books, and when the handsome new messenger starts bringing her some, what’s a princess to do?

Coralina
The second oldest, Carolina, or Co-Co as her sisters call her, is a real beauty, and she knows it. She hasn’t met a man she couldn’t charm, and most were left behind broken-hearted. But when she meets the one man immune to her charms, she must learn there is more to life than flirting and fun, and perhaps her beauty isn’t the gift she once thought. While vain beyond belief, there is a gentle and kind soul hiding inside. If only she could get past her own vanity and need to be admired.

Heidel
Heidel isn’t your typical princess. She loves cooking and working with herbs to heal others. She’s also brash, and prone to anger, especially by the teasing Prince Eravis. But when they both enter the same baking contest, sparks begin to fly, and not just the angry kind. These two are so fun to read about! They’re interactions are priceless, and each just knows how to hit the other’s buttons, even while they fight falling for the other.
This is such a great set of books. So well done just a fun read. Great for all ages.
Can't wait till the next book is out.
I am really enjoying this series.
